Regulatory Framework for Community Radio – workshops with DCMS
DCMS is holding a series of regional workshops to explore the
future regulatory framework for community radio. These workshops,
which are being led by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in
association with Ofcom and the Community Media Association, will form
part of a wider consultation on the forthcoming Communications
Review Green Paper.
DCMS would like to use these meetings to explore current pressures on
the sector and examine whether there may be a case for amending the
existing legislative and regulatory regimes, and if so how such change
could be achieved whilst securing the unique identity and role of
community radio.
The meetings are scheduled as follows:
· Manchester Monday 13th February, 1-4pm
· London Thursday 16th February, 1-4pm
· Glasgow Tuesday 21st February, 10am-1pm
If you, or a representative of your community radio station, would like
to attend one of these sessions, then please inform Sarah Baylis at DCMS
which session you wish to attend by Wednesday 1st February. Please
note that places at each session are limited and will be allocated on a
first-come first-served basis.
An agenda and details of venues will be circulated closer to the date
of the event.
