CMA / BBC (English Regions) Partnership

With increasing numbers of community media organisations engaging with the BBC, the CMA and the BBC English Regions are working in partnership to support current and future collaborations.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the CMA and the BBC (English Regions) has been developed to help support current and future working arrangements between community media groups and the BBC in England. The main aim of the Memorandum is to ensure that such arrangements happen in the best way with the best outcomes, delivering a richer experience for listeners, viewers and web surfers.

The CMA / BBC Partnership is having a positive impact on community media organisations across England which are working with the BBC to share knowledge and skills, jointly produce on-air programmes and to develop volunteer training courses and work placements.

CMA members have also assisted the BBC in moving closer to its diversity targets on and off air, improving its connectivity at a local level with audiences and boosting its creative talent base.
