Legal & Compliance Workshop, Saturday 21st October, Sheerness

The Radio Hub will next meet in Sheppey with three community radio stations in the area of Swale.

The event will be held on 21st October at 10:30am for an 11am start with Paul Chantler delivering a legal and compliance workshop.

Please email dannylawrence@gateway978.com  if you wish to attend.

Paul provides half-day seminars covering defamation, contempt and privacy with lots of audio and text examples and stories of things that have gone wrong in the past. This session will be tailored for presenters and producers or journalists working in the UK.

Compliance covers offensive and discriminatory language, the rules about running contests on air and the separation of advertising and editorial as well as an outline of Ofcom, the way it works and the Broadcast Code. The seminar also includes a discussion about the important issue of listener trust.

Paul Chantler is a respected international radio programming consultant providing strategic, operational and training support. He has an excellent track record of success with 30 years experience working in the UK, Ireland, Europe and India. Paul is available for ongoing and project-based consulting for radio groups, radio stations and individuals.

The  event will finish at 5pm at the latest and a buffet lunch is provided.

Because this event was so popular last year, tickets are available on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, and a lot of stations have already signed up. Sign up soon as once the maximum is reached then bookings will be closed.
