As a CMA member, as well as supporting our strategic work, you will have access to a range of advice, support, information and consultancy:

Information, advice and support
The CMA provides daily support to members online and by telephone on specific issues.

Training
The CMA delivers training workshops to support community media groups in meeting new challenges.

A Voice for Community Media
  • The Community Media Association actively works to improve recognitionof the community media sector and its work in and involvement with thecommunities it seeks to serve.
  • The CMA works at national, regional and local levels to increase funding for the sector to enable and expand its work with disadvantaged communities.
  • The CMA provides the secretariat and regular briefings for the All Party Parliamentary Community Media Group.
  • The CMA represents community media on the Skillset Radio Skills & Development Forum, the Skillset TV Skills Strategy Committee and the Radio Industry Diversity Group.
  • The CMA is a member of the Digital Television Stakeholders Group that meets quarterly to receive updates anddiscuss progress of the UK’s Digital Switchover programme.
  • The CMA is a part of Public Voice, the leading voluntary sector coalition campaigning for citizens’ interests in mediaand communications policy and regulation.
Get your programmes on the net
The CMA’s Canstream Service assists community media organisations in making their programmes available on the web. The service is available at a discounted rate for CMA members.

Partnerships
The Community Media Association regularly recruits members as partners in delivering CMA grant funded projects.

High profile National Events
The CMA regularly organises high profile national events which showcase new developments in the community media sector and brings together a diverse audience from the Community, Voluntary, Public and Private sectors.
