Broadcast Conversations a series of roundtable discussions coordinated by the Community Media Association discussing aspects of broadcasting relevant to arts and community media collaboration.

Individually hosted and documented these events will provide a focused space to explore key issues.

Three events have been scheduled for September and October 2013.

 

“online radio as a medium for arts and culture”

Date: September 18th 2013

Time: 1.30pm – 4.00pm

Hosted by Basic FM at Tyneside Cinema Newcastle
“local broadcasting, global audiences”

Date: October 2nd 2013

Time: 1.30pm – 4.00pm

Hosted by the Digital Media Centre South Hill Park Bracknell

 

“archiving and sharing programmes”

Date: 18th October 2013

Time: 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Hosted by The British Library

 

These events are free to attend but the places are strictly limited, to secure a place please email arts@commedia.org.uk include why you are interested in attending along with your contact details including name, email address and the organisation, arts group you represent. (confirmation of a place will be by return email)

 

Two further events are being discussed for November 2013
Funded by Arts Council England Broadcast Conversations are part of a wider Community Media Association programme bringing together community broadcasters and artists to explore creative media opportunities.

 

 

The Community Media Association is the UK representative body for the community broadcasting sector, and is committed to promoting access to the media for people and communities. We enable people to establish and develop community-based communications media for empowerment, cultural expression, information and entertainment.
