CMA AGM & Conference 2015

To CMA members,

This is to update you on how the CMA is developing ahead of our annual AGM and conference.

Last year we embarked on a process of internal change that puts the needs of our members at the heart of our operational focus. In January I said that part of the process has been to make ourselves more robust as a business so we can build our capacity. Thanks to the new finance team this is now well under way. We have also taken the opportunity to carry out a thorough organisational review. Central to this process is the CMA Council, as representatives of our members and their interests, as well as Bill Best who leads our office. In a few weeks time we have a strategy day which will lead to the creation of a CMA development plan. We would like to present this to members at our AGM and conference now scheduled for Saturday 12th September at Radio LaB, University of Bedfordshire, Luton LU1 3JU.

Moving the conference to this date, on the other side of summer, will also give us a chance to hear initial reports on the progress of Ofcom’s small-scale DAB trials. This day will maximise networking opportunities bringing together broadcasters, service providers, key sector partners and funders.

In a year that has seen the long awaited Community Radio Order amendment, a new partnership with the BBC, and the progress of local TV with community orientated agendas shows that we are in exciting times full of opportunities. I look forward to exploring and sharing these with you on 12th September.
