Saturday 20th February saw the Community Radio Network Hub launch in the South East.  Some 26 radio stations were represented in the first networking of community radio and Internet stations in Essex at hosts Gateway 97.8.

Stations such as BFBS, SFM,  Phoenix, Gateway 97.8 and others spent the afternoon talking radio and there were presentations from Radio Response,  the Community Media Association  and Hermitage Radio.

The Prison Radio AssociationBroadcast Warehouse and Transplan UK were also present and they plan to give talks and equipment updates at subsequent Community Radio Network Hub meetings.

The next meeting of the Community Radio Network Hub will be 12pm, 21st May at Radio Lab in Luton.

Danny Lawrence, Gateway 97.8 said “There is a market for networking and the high turn out showed that. We have 31 stations who have joined the network hub. I’m looking forward to the community radio networking event on Saturday 16th April in Melton Mowbray”. 103 The Eye recently celebrated 10 years of community radio broadcasting.
