The CMA was commissioned by the BBC, and working with Carillion plc, to enable specialist community radio programming that offered help to older people and disabled people making the switch to digital television. The help scheme website contains lots of information about the scheme and how it works.

Stations involved with the project produced programming in a variety of community languages to publicise the Digital Switchover Help Scheme in their area in the period leading up to the first switchover date.

Community radio stations participating in the Digital Switchover Help Scheme uploaded their completed audio files that may be heard online here.
